The Bower E-type bearing unit has a one-piece cast iron housing with a slender mounting groove and a spherical roller bearing insert, allowing eccentricity of +/- 2 degrees. It also has a set screw locking ring, a machined brass retainer, a double-lip heavy contact seal with a metal shield, and an expanded inner ring.

Available sizes range from 1 7⁄16 to 4 15⁄16 sleepers, and two-bolt or four-bolt configurations. The cover area can be directly interchanged with other E-type sleeper units.

• Self-aligning double row spherical roller bearings;

• Fixed screw lock ring;

• Machined brass retainer with offset pocket;

• Extended installation slots; 

• The double lip seal is molded on the metal shield.
